We are confident that the proposed Multi Academy Trust would enable each of its member schools to flourish through greater collaboration. The proposed Multi Academy Trust would be established in September 2017 by all five schools (Longthorpe, Ravensthorpe, Thorpe, Middleton and Jack Hunt), which would each convert to academy status.

Proposal to create the Jack Hunt Group Multi Academy Trust
The school Governing Body has been carefully considering the future strategy for Jack Hunt School given current Government policy on education and the running of schools.
Our school is performing well with current Ofsted judgement of Good. However, in an increasingly challenging educational landscape we recognise that maintaining and improving school performance needs a more robust and sustainable plan.
The proposed plan
Governors and Headteachers from five schools in Peterborough have been exploring deeper school-to-school partnership for a few months, having already seen some of the benefits of working with other schools since 2010 as part of the Jack Hunt Community Learning Trust.
· Jack Hunt School
· Longthorpe Primary School
· Middleton Primary School
· Ravensthorpe Primary School
· Thorpe Primary School
The proposal is to create the Jack Hunt Group Multi Academy Trust, a new Multi Academy Trust. We are confident that the Jack Hunt Group Multi Academy Trust would enable each school to flourish through greater collaboration and joint working between member schools. The proposed Multi Academy Trust would be established in September 2017 by all five schools, which would each convert to academy status.
We have set out in more detail the plan, benefits, vision and management of the proposed Jack Hunt Group Multi Academy Trust in the attached document.
Consultation on the proposed plan
Governors wish to consult with parents, carers, staff, students and the wider school community on the proposal. The consultation will run from Wednesday 26 April 2017 until Friday 26 May 2017.
We would like to invite parents and carers to attend a meeting at Jack Hunt School on Thursday 11 May 2017, starting at 6.30pm.
The Headteacher, Mrs Kilbey, Governors and colleagues from the other schools will make a brief presentation before giving you the chance to ask questions. We will then conduct a survey to understand your views before making a final decision in June 2017.
Clearly any decision to proceed with the Academy Conversion would depend on any new government’s policy on education following the general election in June. However, this consultation has been planned based on current government policy.
We look forward to seeing you on Thursday 11 May 2017.
